I am thrilled to say that i'm getting better. I have been experiencing severe pain with both hips for the past 7 weeks, so much that I thought my surgery was a failure. I went as far as making an appointment with the worlds leading spine specialist in Germany, purchased my tickets and was committed to have more surgery if needed. About a week ago my pain started to lessen and today I am almost 90% pain free in my hip area. I am going to start to practice playing pool again, but not until I return from my vacation in Europe. Since I will not need to see Dr. Zeegers in Germany I am taking my girlfriend for a three week vacation to Europe. We already have the tickets, why not? Yippee yi o Or somethng like that.

I had back surgery 6-7 months ago and I'm scheduling total knee replacement soon.My back feels great now.. just have to do some low impact excorcises to keep lower back muscles tuned up .. 6 months from now you'll be able to jump up .. click your heels together and shout Yippeeyo .. Surgeon gave me a sympathy card I could use when matchin up.. Never used it on Rod because he's such a "SOFTY" He would gone off like a roman candle and I would of felt real bad :D
P.S. Billy .. Just a reminder stay vigilent with excorcise regimen .. once your feelin better it's easy to sweep aside

Thanks Mark for your interest, and about your total knee replacement there's a hospital in NYC called Hospital For Special Surgery that's the leading hospital in our country for hip and knee replacements. There are a couple of outstanding doctors. there that are the best with both hip and knee replacements. The hospital has a 00.1% infection rate after surgery, lowest in the country. The average hospital has an 1% infection rate.

This hospital has 90% of their patients getting hip and knee replacements, they know how to take care of their patients, and do a great job. Check them out on their web site.

Thanks,

Billy,
I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. All the VA wants to do for me in put me on stronger pain meds. I feel a little better when I take them but I'm also concerned that I'm doing too much as a result of taking them possibly doing more harm. It is encouraging to hear that your surgery went well since I'd pretty much decided that even if the VA wanted to operate I would probably decline. Maybe I can reconsider that resolve. Hope you enjoy your vacation in Europe. Don't tell Danny, he'll get jealous. lol

I'm overjoyed for you sir. I hope you have the time of your life on vacation. Make sure you leave off the narcotics as the pain dissapates or they can be just as bad as they are good. Now we can join in and pay it forward for Mark-Houston. That's how it works. Exercise is very important. Pool will help. Play some snooker over there. Don't get that E. Coli bacteria either. Hmmm. Maybe you better not go. I'm just kidding. I think they tracked it to the bean spouts and are controling that so no worries. Have a ball

That's yippee-ki-o-ki-a, Billy. Good to hear you are on the mend.
I think it's allways best to go as easy on the pain meds as a persons tolerance will allow. :)

Glad to hear you're feeling better! You'll enjoy Europe, that's for sure. My wife and I toured Europe for 3 weeks two summers ago. We can heartily recommend a visit to Heidelberg and then Strasbourg, which is in the Germanic region of France, which is just a short train ride from Heidelberg. In fact, Strasbourg may be the highlight of our trip. I had no trouble wooing my lil' lady over in the old country...

Oh yeah, I just remembered. If you make it to Paris, check out this place:

Académie de Billards

And yes, they have a poker room.

glad you're feeling better Billy ! Now buy a damn digitial camera with a couple of big ass memory cards and take thousands of pictures of your trip.

Come back and call me up and I'll walk you thru how to burn them on some DVD's, send them to me and I"ll put them up on the web for you and burn you a very nice DVD video, so you can share them with your friends and remember this trip forever.

You know what a lock is, well that offer is one for sure!!!:D

Have fun and stop off at a Internet cafe or bring a laptop so you can give us a road trip update in real time
