Default Scotty Townsend dead at 56

I was stunned to just now hear this awful news. He died in a motorcycle accident on December 23.

Scotty had been a living legend: a phenomenal 9-ball player, and a man's man. He had a character and a demeanor around the pool table that was as charismatic as it was winning. Few pool players were as admired, and have had as many stories told about them as Scotty. This is a terrible loss to the pool community.

I understand there will be a memorial tournament in West Monroe, I believe in April.

Sorry Doc.. I thought you knew. I was watching an Erica Production One Pocket Match the night it happened. She reported it.... I mentioned it on this site that night with not a single response.... Here is a little video someone put up on the other site I thought was good. I figured you knew him.

I should have picked up on it more, but he is one player I don't think I have ever come across, and I had never sought him out because he was not known for One Pocket. My apologies, and condolences to his family and friends.
