I have a couple of sticks that I would like to bring to the Derby to sell, 8-10. Has anyone ever tried to send cues via UPS, Fed Ex, etc? Any ideas?

Bullshit!

It was done in the '50s.... that's how the game of Pik-up-Stix was invented.

Not true. That game was invented when a band of well-intentioned but largely ill-fated epileptics started a toothpick company. True story, I read it in a BOOK.

Then it's agreed. scrzbill, you're just gonna have to do the deed and mule your package to the Midwest. Just like all the rest of us.

I would never send Thai-sticks through the mail, and take the chance of ending up being Tony Chohan's roomie....

Speaking of Thai-sticks...

I know our own JimmyB could hang with this young lady..:heh..I don't know about the rest of us...:D

Actually, shipping to the hotel can add complications. You are at the mercy of a staff in a crowed environment. I recommend having Fed Ex or UPS find one of their stores near your hotel. Have them hold for arrival. Additionally, FED Ex will only insure for $500 and for a cue of greater value, if lost or damaged will say it is collectable and not pay off higher. I am not certain of policies at UPS or USPS.

I recommend also you ship in cheap case for protection and I normally have them pack the tubes. The packing is not much and you then know it is done right.

Good luck,
Phil

It's very likely you would need a dealers permit from Greg to sell your cues. The other exhibitors pay for their booth space. I believe in the past people have been asked to leave for free lance selling. Just a thought.

I don't have any Lancers for sale, I got rid of those at the Renaissance Faire.

I'd take it with ya on the flight and ck your luggage. Either in a Very Large roll around, and wrap your cloths around it and insure it....or I've heard others find a box, and put it inside/insure and bubble wrap the interior cavities, and ck it in baggage. Then when I arrived I might consider talking to a trustworthy vendor and give em a cut. If it's insured you'll get money either way.

I have decided to just take my Hunter cues and pictures of the others. Pictures won't take up much space on my I-devices. I have a roll around vendors case but there is no way to lock anything up. I don't know how Jewelers get their stuff around the country.

I just had a friend of mine visit from Tampa, he had a large soft duffle bag with handles and put it in the middle of his stuff.
