Default Flying with cues question

Have any of you guys flown with your cues as carry on to recent tournaments or are you packing in checked luggage? Just wondering if airlines have loosened up on bringing as carry on.

Check cues only unfortunately. When all this started I bought a 35/36" rolling duffle w/a bottom that opens separately. I have used that ever since and works well.

We missed you this year Mike. We could have had a group shot of us going to In N Out this year instead of chicago beef.

I'll be flying Sunday - and am going to use a JB rugged travel case. Holds my JB regular case as well as all the clothes etc I'll need for the couple days I'll be there. When I bought it, we were going for the APA team event in Vegas. We had 4 regular cases stuffed in there totaling 11 cues - best money I've ever spent for travel.

Yes, still have to check. I bought a JB Rugged for that very reason and have been very happy with it. So much so that I use it as my main case locally.

Beware of Spirit Airlines. They broke a cue of mine that was packed in a hard case that was inside of a larger cue bag. It was a clean break in the butt with no damage to the hard case. It appears as if someone actually took the cue out of the case and slammed it against something to break it in half. There is no other reasonable explanation that anyone can come up with.

Of course I didn't discover this until I got home and took my cue case out of the travel bag. When I called Spirit Airlines, they said I should have reported it immediately at the airport and they were not responsible after I left with the cue. This happened two years ago on my return flight from Houston.

I made my only piece of artwork out of the remains.
