Smitty, Natchez is a neat little town right on the Mississippi River delta. As I'm sure you know-- the climate will be a big change from Seminole!
As in most towns with casinos, that type of gambling tends to dry up the pool action. However I believe that there is a half-decent poolroom there, and as I recall, the owner likes to play one-pocket. I think he's posted on some of the pool sites. He also puts on some cheap tournaments; and there are some 1P players around. This is all from memory. I've never played there.
You're only 2-1/2 hours from the Gulfport area, so if you ever want to make a trip down to the coast you can contact me or Col. Bille. We both have good tables at our homes, and especially Bille loves inexpensive action. There is also a decent poolroom in Gulfport called Skeeters.
In addition you have a straight shot to Baton Rouge, which has a well known room called Bayou Billiards. There's definitely action available there, but the equipment typically has been in poor condition. The owner (Mike Black?) is a top area player.
You also have fairly close access to action rooms in Jackson, Miss., New Orleans (Kenner and Metairie), Chalmette, and probably others.
What caused you to move from TX to Miss.? Job change? Please don't hesitate to call me if there is any way I can help. P.M. me for my cell ph#.
