Default WWYD u need 2

You need both balls in this situation.

You have the pocket where the 12 is.

How would you get out?

How did I get out?

I will post video of my solution later.

*You* would probably go rail first on the 12 and 5 rails around for the 1 or something like that.

*I* don't play that much 3C and would probably make the 12 and try to get the cue ball about 1 diamond up from the footrail to play the cross-over bank on the 1, which should turn pretty naturally.

Since the cue ball is approximately 11 inches from the long rail and angling toward the 12-ball, I would aim at the long rail directly before the 12-ball using left hand English (930 on the cue ball) with a soft stroke whereby the spin on the cue ball would flatten out the bounce off the short rail and work its way toward my opponent's side thereby allowing a cut shot on the 1-ball to my pocket.

Rail first with a soft draw for position.

I agree This is the obvious shot for us humans. But Id bet Millers wallet that Bill will post something more, um, creative as his solution. Come on Bill... show us your magic!!

I'm slow rolling the CB into the 12 to lay it on the end rail so I can cross bank the 1.

(But I hope there's a video of 3C 's 12-railer.)

You probably 2 railed the cue into the 1 ball, made it then the 12. But us humans would have to make the 12 1st.

The angle of the photos might be a little misleading. (I didn't take them.)

The 12 ball as is the 1 ball, are a little less than 1.5 balls off the short cushion.

The CB is 3/4's of a diamond off the long rail and 6.5 diamonds away from the 12 ball.
