Although Ronnie Allen did well in the one pocket event, it was kind of a gift start in the banks. Ronnie Allen beat Shannon Daulton in the bank pool event. It was the first match for both of them and Shannon was hardly awake, (Ronnie couldn't beat Shannon on his best day), Anyway Shannon went on to win the tournament from the losers side of the bracket. Beating some very good players on the way. While Ronnie didn't last to long.
There was some really long matches. One match that started about 11:15 PM and didn't fininsh until 4:30 AM! Between Mike Dickinson of Phoenix,AZ. and Bob Hercheck of Las Vegas. It went down to the final game and the final ball. It was quite a match. With Bob making the last ball and winning the match. Bob also had a really long match with Harry Platis and most of his other opponents.
It was a really good event and Mark Griffin From the BCA should be congratulated for his first official event. I hope we see more of the in the future. (Except that awaful 9 ball event!)

Kudos to Ronnie

Kudos to Ronnie

Shannon did come back from tne losers' bracket to win the bank pool tournament. However, Ronnie Allen put him there in the first round by beating him 5 to 1. Although Shannon is the better player and was expected to win, you have to give Ronnie credit for playing well enough to defeat Shannon. I spoke with Shannon afterwards and he was sort of "shell-shocked" by the drumming Ronnie put on him. He was still talking about the "impossible" bank Ronnie played on him. He even asked Ronnie how he did it. Anyway, kudos to Ronnie for playing well in Las Vegas :)
