Good guess brother John - you were close...Alex did play off the 5ball, but he went across table left of the 8ball, and then back between the 8 and the 6, and over to my long rail...in doing this, he accomplished removing my best ball (the 5) put it near his pocket, and left me where I have bad angles on the balls around his pocket...here's how it turned out ----->
