Here is a video I made to demonstrate how Tony made that incredible bank.

I shot it from an angle where you can see exactly what happens on the shot.

I also posted it on the thread about it but I am sure a lot of people aren't following it anymore.

That's 2 great shots!! John B.

He was shooting at it. You make it in his pocket, you send it toward your pocket, you double the corners and it goes toward your pocket, you hit it fat and maybe carom off the bottom of the stack, At any rate you take the CB uptable and hope the OB doesn't go over and back.
There's a formula for this shot, it's been on youtube with Efren making it. The CB is farther away than what's ideal, but what the hey!

I rest my case.

Nice!!! Good work Cory.

Fwiw, I shot this shot twice today. While gambling. After seeing these threads. Although the ball was closer to the middle of the rail.

Didn't sink either one. Got safe once with the OB towards my side and sold out once.

In practice I shot that Freddy shot once. Drained it (bc it didn't count lol).

In closing... I would definitely shoot this again and am glad to have it in my arsenal for the future. Thanks T-Rex, Wayne, and the rest. 👍

The Chohan bank cannot be claimed as original. Several years ago Efren shot it against Billy Palmer in DCC. It is available on You Tube and I talked with Billy about it and he told me it demoralized him in the match. The bank probably is best made on a Diamond table and I have not seen it made on a Gold Crown unless the cushions were altered somehow.

I don't think anyone claimed that Chohan invented it, just that he hit it really well in a high-stakes game.

Also, I posted a video of me making it on a Diamond. And in fact, I can hit it pretty consistently on a Diamond. I've tried it on two Gold Crowns and it's still possible, but more difficult. So as far as I can tell, you're right about the table difference.

Funny story about this bank. Danny Olson is a strong player as Wayne and jtompilot can attest. I play one pocket with him all the time. I have shown him a few moves/shots over the years. This bank came up in a game about 2 weeks ago. Cueball was in a better position. I told him bank that ball back to your hole.
He responded,"you are crazy. You try it 10x and if you get close once you got lucky." I shot the shot and hung it,in my hole! He
then says,"oh,now I see." He shot the bank, made it first try. He hung it twice, and left it just above his pocket once. He said "thanks, that is slick!".

I want to add, I have never seen the ball "hang" in the opponents pocket. Sure it has went straight in, but it just doesn't rattle and hang.

The first time I ever saw the shot was the late 1960s.
The object ball was frozen to the end rail in the center of the table and the cue ball was frozen to the rail 1 diamond farther away than the object ball.
I think the guy was asking for 10 shots to make it.
He was in Columbus Ohio though and couldn't have got anyone to bet 15 cents, if he said he could do it 10 out of 10.
I used to like to shoot it just to goof off but it was rare when I made it.
For some reason I thought you had to shoot it at warp speed , and that was what it was every time I ever made it , but I showed it to a really good player and he was getting it close with a little over pocket speed.

When Efren shot it at DCC a few years back, as I recall, he did not hit it hard at all. Just found it on Youtube! Danny comments that it was the second time in two games he played the shot. Incidentally, both Danny and the other commentator were both assuming Efren would be kicking behind the ball when it came up -- sound familiar? :D:D

Hey Jerry look at the video of the shot in the first post and you will see it made on a Gold Crown with unaltered cushions.
