55 of the Area's best showed up for Truman's bank pool tourney this past weekend. Skyler W. Paducah, Ky. was invited. I ran him close to 500 bucks in the calcutta and pulled up when i realized the odds were less than 2-1.
order of finish.
1st. Skyler Woodward
2nd. Clay Carmen board member here
3rd. Paul Arnold age 73, wow !! gives me hope and inspiration.
4th. Eric Elliott
5th. Brian Roberts
I finished about 12th i think. Next time i just may be a spectater, i'm like Muhammad Alii, i'm living on my reputation only, lol.
I'm playing as an A+ player , playing a guy 1/2 my age, giving up 4 balls, he banks in 5, then 4 , my hill is too hard to climb at age 70!! Any way a fun weekend, Sky is still in Louisville in heavy action, played all night and all day. You're only 20 once.

Truman's Louisville Tournament

Truman's Louisville Tournament

It was nice to meet you down there Jim. That was a good tournament,.. good format, pretty balanced field, Truman runs a pretty tight ship. Overall, a good tourney. I had fun.

I like the "race to a number of balls format" better than a "race to a number of games". I'd like to see the Derby go to that (without the handicap), maybe a race to 23 either full or nine-ball rack would work. Anyway,... again,.. it was nice talking with you down there.

oh,.. that is a nice looking car.

Surely you are not saying Skyler only had to go to 19?

19 is the top rating in Truman's tourney.

The format is a nine ball rack, break'em wide open, no safety breaks, race to your number. The top number is 19. Lowest is 11.

Skylar and a few others were 19's most were less than that.

Here are the top finishers with their "race-to" number (I think these are correct)

1st. Skyler Woodward - 19
2nd. Clay Carman - 16
3rd. Paul Arnold - 13
4th. Eric Elliot - 14
5th. Brian Roberts - 19

Skylar won the final match 19-14.

Thanks for the clarification. I was under the impression they were using the race to 23 full rack format.

Great tournament Truman! This was my first bank tournament. I went two and out, but had a lot of fun. I was ranked a 14. Lost 16-7 and 16-9. Everyone I met was very friendly. I came down with my friend Clay Carman from Indiana. He finished in second place. Good job Clay! I took some photos while I watched the second day. I will try and post a link to the photos. I have never posted photos before , so I hope this works. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/...164.1073741833.1433658334&type=1&l=6f5893dc94 Thanks John Taggart

I'm not sure who else is who...

But I did see Skylar Woodward, looked like Bryan Roberts, Truman, Louis Demarco and ???

Pretty neat looking room; maybe one of these years I will get some extra time in Louisville and go there!!
