Who are you going to sponsor with your already non refundable entry?

I believe the serious health concerns clause earns me a refund. I also wouldn't be opposed to postponing the event until this fall when we get a better idea on whats going to happen in the next few months. Heck the NBA just cancelled their entire season.

I would agree with you on the postponement. As far as a refund, we should remember that I like to rib you because your such a good and funny guy. If you have COPD then you definitely stay home for as much as possible. You are at risk. Stay healthy my friend.

I suspect that this coronavirus thing will be all over but the shoutin' by June, and the media will have moved on to some other panic topic. Still, I wouldn't blame those who are in a high risk group for being very cautious during the next couple of months, just like they might be for the typical influenza virus.

I think everyone is overreacting on COVID-19. Everyone ! 35,000 people died from flu this flu season.

Life goes on. Now, members have made reservations, already thinking about tourney and matching up.

John, I can see your personal concern, I don't blame you. I am 71 and in fairly good health, I am going.

My mother is 93, I can see her worries about even catching the flu(35,000). The whole world is overreacting if you
ask me.
Like Doc says above, hopefully it will be under control by June.

Don't be afraid and see most of you in Chicago:) (y)

fwiw...I'm not cancelling either, and I may even book my flight now when prices have been reduced.

The potential crisis moment is right now, not 3 months from now. The main thing now is to contain the spread of this virus before it actually gets out of control.

I'm not scared, just being cautious as I'm at risk. Congrats to those who arent. I hope I'm wrong. FYI the Governor of Il. Just announced he wants to postpone all major events including baseball and basketball until the end of May. Unfortunately... i think I'll just request my refund on this event.

John,

I have been thinking over the same thing for the past week or so. I just haven't pulled the trigger yet because I figured there was plenty of time to do so. Let me say, if things haven't changed drastically for the better by a month or so before the MOT, I am definitely not going. Perhaps we should ask here just what the policy will be as far as a refund for those of us who just can't take the chance.

I obviously think you are correct in your decision as things stand now. Very painfully, I decided to stop going to the pool room this week, soon the withdrawal pains will set in. :(

All the casinos in Oklahoma are canceling all entertainment and buffet for food. All sporting events has been cancelled. By June everything should be back to normal we hope.

Nobody knows what this thing ultimately is/will or will not become.

Given the demographics of our membership (shit, all of us “young guys” are into our late 40s) it should warrant some serious consideration to see what the intermediate future holds and make a sober decision at some defined point.

(If my horse track closes, I might have a conniption...…)

What is in the works about slow play? It seem that there are a few matches that last forever. This throws the bracket of like crazy. There was a rule at Reds about spotting ball after so long.
That seems counterproductive lol

it’s like everyone going to the tournament is in the age group to cautious. By June let’s hope this goes away.

The way it reads I can see how that is confusing but I think he means the Grady rule where when you have a wedge going in the upper corner / head rail, it tends to be a long game. So maybe after a length of time or so many shots, they will spot one of those balls down on the spot by the player's pockets hopefully speeding the game up...
