great to get a glimpse of the past masters . thanks skin. what was that about shorty getting to pick his pocket after wimpy scratched . please someone confirm that was tv announcer stupidity.

Did that look to you like Shorty hooked himself off of that first shot after Lassiter's scratch on the break?

That just goes to show, that in a short tournament race, the best 1P player does not always win against someone who plays pool at a very high level...even if he doesn't know the game near as well.

The same thing happened last year at the DCC, in the Frost/Schmidt 1P final.

As has been said before...short race tournaments don't always determine the best player...they just determines who gets the Trophy.

even if you are "lucky" you still have to make the balls to win. yes??

Good points. Actually I'd favor Schmidt over Lassiter in one-pocket. In 14.1, I'd favor lassiter.
