The match between JR, Bernie and The Ghost is just starting in the Action Room at DCC!

Race to 6, $500 a man. Bernie has the first break. Ace and DeeMan are official seconds and unofficial Tush Hogs for the event. All players are in fine form.

John Henry took the opener taking advantage of a couple of early errors on the Ghost/Bernie Team and shutting off most of the oxygen after gaining a few balls early on.

John has just broken the second rack and Bernie is has a leaked 9 next to his pocket but looks to only have that one ball available. He makes that one then cleverly removes a ball hanging in John's pocket.

Team Bernie/Ghost took the second game in a wide open game that saw swings both ways with Bernie making a long down the rail shot after a scratch by John who conceded a short combo on the bottom rail after landing perfectly in line off the rail shot.

Bernie just broke open the third game but left John a "leaked" 13 ball near his pocket. John Henry got too straight on his next shot and ducked to the bottom rail after a two ball run.

John Henry takes game three 8-3 in a battle where he seemed to alternate between his wild west coast shot making but let a little Chicago " my mom didn't raise no fools" resistance to some early bait put out by both Ghost and Bernie. Team unity may be playing a part here as, of course, John Henry is not having partner issues! not to say that Team Bernie/Ghost is but John is not talking to his partner, himself.....yet! :)

John has started game four with a nice run of three but is faced with a tough combo that has some risk. He missed the combo but left them in jail near their hole with balls cluster on the wrong side, for them.

Ghost is gonna play the obvious nurse rail safe unless he goes wild!

Same game, the scoreis 6-2 John but the balls lay better for Team B/G. After a brave long missed cut by John, a series of safeties is going on with both not giving an inch so far. John makes a brilliant move that leaves the ball more balanced of slightly in his favor.

Ghost comments, "I have not had a straight shot in an hour!" This is true. Then he long banks a 5 ball that rattles and then John almost cross banks it leaving it deep in then pocket. Bernie then has no clear shot to attempt to dig it out and ops to us a 7 ball to knock it in but makes both in John's pocket! game to John.

is RA there yet. ?..I may have to prevail upon him and Mataya, to get to the game, and make a few innocent comments and timely side wagers..:p

Hoping the Ghost/Bernie team, will not be distracted by that..:rolleyes:..(John is used to fading it)

PS..Looks like John is doing OK, without the threat of an RA "bite"

EDIT; Dennis, please do not inject your pornographic innuendos into this serious game..Go watch an old Marilynn C. movie, or something..:eek:

This year, I have to so far, go for the "all fours" logo. John Schmidt didn't even bring eye candy this year and the pickins, they be slim! :)

Dick,

I have not seen Ronnie but they say he will arrive closer to the HOF Dinner! Doc said to tell you there about 15 large on the rail!

Game starts with a brilliant reversal after the break by John locking an eight in his pocket jaws while the one makes it tough for the ghost to remove it. He ducks behind the stack, not much there for John but he tries a bank but misses and it lands in front of Bernie's pocket. Bernie should get a few here!

He makes the one but has a tough cut on the four he makes, almost over cutting and lands great on a slight angle nine. After getting nice on e 2 he over cuts it but leaves John stuck on the rail near his pocket with the six and two in his way. he does about as well as he could and leaves the ghost an east two which he makes and gets shape uptable on the 11.

Same game! Score 5-1 Team Bernie/Ghost but as Bernie says, " We are in a pickle!" as he has a difficult cluster of three in front of John's pocket. he makes one to safe John and now John temps them with a long straight 7 for the Ghost and an inch off the head rail. He passes and leaves John close to his hole with only long 15 bank which John caroms into their pocket but luckily leaves not shot!
Avery long partner discussion ensues by team B/G!

Bernie misses a beautiful twist back long bank but just barely.John tries a gutsey long cut on the 4but sells out when he misses. The ghost only gets two and they win!

Game underway but no score yet in game 6.

Just for info, The Ghost plays Dennis Orcollo at 8:00PM after beating Ike Runnels last night! What a reward? John also plays at 8:00 and Bernie and Ace may possibly play each other or draw a bye. I am not playing one pocket, only nine ball!

This is, so far, the least exciting game in this match unless your into watching paint dry! :) I'll update when something happens or a naked woman runs through the Action Room!

Game six is still working out like Zanax! The score is 4-1 Team B/G, with them turning to Artie rules, do nothing to demonstrate you are a breathing human, and it appears they will quit the session until tomorrow after this game so they can get ready for their matches. It is 6:00 pm local time and all the balls are ugly against Ghost's/Bernie's side of the table with little potential action other than safeties. Nick Varner would be asking "What's taking yup guys so long! :)

However, this is an important game, John wins, they have pressure on tomorrow, they win, it's anew race to three, I may vegetate before this one is booked! :)

Thanks Deeman...Almost like being there...:p

Actually looked into a flight from Phx leaving early AM tomoorrow... Figured I might as well feel like s*** there, as here... Could only stay a few days... No early flights available though, the best I could get there was 9:30 PM. That would miss the HOF dinner...:(

PS who are John and Ghost and Bernie playing in the tournament ?... The Duck sends OXOXOX to Clare too...:p
