Philly is and has traditionally been one of the strongest cities in the country for One Pocket Action. There are four rooms in the area that are great for finding a game (high or low stakes):

Tacony-Palmyra Billiards --> The room is managed by Jim Hill, and the room is one of the biggest action rooms in the country. Most of the action is gone by 6pm, however.

Drexeline Billiards --> Owned and run by Bob Maidhoff, a top regional straight pool player. The action isn't nearly as high as it is at Tacony, but there are a handful of players who can be called if you want to match up.

Fusco's --> Owned by Pete Fusco. There are more kids at this room than players, but again, if you want to match up, there are players that can be called in.

The Green Room --> This room is actually in neighboring Maple Shade, NJ, about 10 minutes east of Tacony-Palmyra. The action can get high in this room as well, and a number of the top players in the area play here.

Update for Philly Places to play

Update for Philly Places to play

Tacony Billiards is now owned by several gentlemen that also own the famous Boulevard Billiards. Pleanty of One Pocket Action high and low. Class A & B Tournaments every other Sunday afternoon. Nine Ball every Tuesday night at 8. Good food and excellent bar. Mostly daytime action before 6.:)

Pete Fuscos new place is just north of Philadelphia and is starting to really take off. Good action at night. A beautiful room

Green Room in Maple Shade just changed hands recently and the new owner is trying to bring back the players. He is running a nine ball tournament on Monday and some other tournaments during the week.

Drexeline hasnt changed. Still a nice place to play as are all these places. Safe and comfortable.
