Rookie #2 here; one tip of 8 o'clock looks perfect. (I thought it was the 5, though.)
At the table, I'd probably bank the 7 cross-corner, send the CB into the 4, and scratch in the side. That Rubble always was a lucky SOB.

I would have considered 2 railing the 4 ball and either drifting the cue ball to the side rail or going way down table depending on the angle. The way Fred Shuff left it could be trouble, given a straight shooting Barney Woodward is up next. Barney is liable to cut the loose ball in (11?) and break up the stack and get out from there.
