Just a couple of shots after the break. His opponent broke, and Efren has pocket 'A'.

With Efren's touch this should be no problem. No sell out . Nothing to play off of other than going towards the one ball or up table. Thats my thinking.--Smitty[CUETABLE]http://CueTable.com/P/?@3AMvl4BEDq3CUTg3DSqI3EItg4FBre4GBrM1HROx3IAOe3JBCS3KEUl3LHHl3MBtP4NFbJ4OBav3PALf4QdWs3kALf3kSwk3kbxg3kVLC3kToJzc@[/CUETABLE]

Bank the 3 with position on the 8. If he misses he leaves a long shot on the 4 with tough position if the opponent makes it and a big penalty if he misses.

Stiff the 3 and play three/four rail shape. Even if it's hit poorly, nothing bad is going to happen if the 3 contacts the 4, 5 or 12 first.

Since that is not magical enough, maybe Efren tried to do this.

im hitting the five into the left side of the four and knocking it towards my hole fairly hard and sending the five and hopefully the three up table and leaving the cue ball against the eleven or bumping it and be by the ten. this shot changes the favorite right now.

This is my efren guess.

I think beatle's and my shot are almost identical after reading his post.

This shot is diagrammed just as the commentator's described how they thought Efren would play it... but this is Efren here :) This is basically the shot, but Efren did something a little different with the cue ball.

this was the shot since it got efren out of the break and turned the table around to his favor. i would have used the 3 to go into the stack and move alot of balls to my side , leave a teaser with distance . something like this

Blackee, that's close enough. His shot worked out great, yet Shannon found a real nice return kick safety, and eventually Shannon wins this game.
fast forward to the 14:20 mark of the video

after the shot ball position. definitely not as strong as efrens or beatle or dudley :( would you shoot the 4? or start repositioning the balls??

I'm trying to create a link that takes you right to that point in the movie, but so far it isn't working. Let's try this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hp776RAe7yo#t=14m20s

If this doesn't work for you, you should be able to click and drag on the little progress button....

Thanks Steve, That worked fine, the first one only had 2:29 and I couldn't find how to advance to further reels.
Rod.

Great Efren threads Steve,

this are some fun shots to think about... I got stuck watching the match for quite a while.

What is up with this shot??????

the cue ball goes forward before it draws backwards......... it looked like a big bar ball

heavy measle ball small object balls>??????

This would drive me nuts.

Dalton is elevated and contacts the OB in the air so the CB jumps forward a bit before the draw has a chance to take.

Semih Sayginer uses the same effect to build up enough speed before the 1st rail in order to make this very difficult draw shot:

He used to do this shot without jumping around the yellow first, but since the jump is needed anyway he might as well do it over a ball :)

I know Shannon is jacked up a bit but I don't see the cue ball jump...... This is why I am confused. If I saw the ball hop even a lil bit it would make sense.

Maybe it is just the quality of the video?

Yes, the quality isn't quite good enough to see it clearly. Also, the camera is at a bad angle for this slight of a jump to be obvious.

But even with the slow frame rate there is a single frame you can see where it's in the air. Just rapidly double-click play-pause a few times and compare it with the frames before and after.

Even without that frame, though, it's clear from the elevation and speed that the ball jumped. The elevation was forced because of the other balls. It's not like he wanted it to jump, but he had to hit it hard enough to draw back for position.
