I just started playing one pocket 3 weeks ago. Until then I was mainly a 9 ball player but I do play 8 ball, straight and some billiards.
I play with an older gentlemen that I have known for awhile. He is a (what I think to be) a decent onepocket player. He at any point in the game can run out, so it has taught me quick the value of not going for the real hard shot and taking a safe play. We are already getting to the point where it is almost a even game between us. He tells me he thinks I can be a real good player, but is only able to show me some of the game.
What advise can any of you give me to improve my game?
If any of you are local to CT and would like to play(just for fun) let me know. I'm not ready to gamble with anyone yet.
