In keeping with the guidelines established by the One Pocket Hall of Fame, the same criteria is in place for the Legends of Bank Pool. That means players are invited from all walks of pool, whether they focused their careers on tournament play or after hours action. Since there were very few early Banks tournaments, after hours reputations take on even more importance:

1. Great Players
who have demonstrated their excellence in tournament competition over time.
2. After Hours Legends who have demonstrated their excellence and their heart by matching up against the best of their time.
3. Teachers and Promoters of the game who have had a lasting impact on the growth and popularity of the game.

Because this is the first Legends of Bank Pool ballot, the players included lean toward the relative seniors of the game. There are major deserving players that are just a little younger whose names will certainly be added in future years. Likewise, there are many strong all-around players that also excel at Banks, but whose names have not been included so that the focus on this ballot is only players that truly have devoted their talent to Banks as their principle game. Thanks in advance for your understanding.

The first seven names are living players, and the last seven are deceased. Please select at least one candidate from each group, because at least one from each group will be inducted in this year’s Hall of Fame class.

Please note: Be sure to select all of the candidates you wish to vote for before you submit your vote. Once you submit your vote it cannot be changed, so be sure to complete your selections carefully before you click on the “Vote Now” button.

Donnie Anderson
– An old-school banking legend from Cincinnati. He won several of the pre-Derby City Banks tournaments, and was a top action player as well.

Freddy ‘The Beard’ Bentivegna
– Veteran Chicago banking icon who has hunted down the best all over the country.

Vernon Elliott – A southern banking legend. For years one of the top undercover players; renowned for his ability to make seemingly impossible banks.

Tony 'Fargo' Ferguson
– A fierce Banks competitor that has tangled with the best of them for years; known for his powerful shooting and strategic approach to the game.

Truman Hogue – From Louisville, Kentucky. A colorful and talented bank pool player who takes an aggressive approach to the game, Truman is both a tournament and action veteran among the very best for the last 40 years and still going strong. The master of the "straight-back."

Leonard ‘Bugs’ Rucker – Ranked right up near Eddie Taylor as one of the greatest bankers ever. ‘Bugs’ would bet even money that he could throw the cue ball and an object ball onto the table and wherever they stopped, he would bank the ball for the cash.

Javanley ‘Youngblood’ Washington – From Chicago’s South Side. Imagine a player who could spot ‘Bugs’ two balls in Banks. The original ‘Youngblood’ did just that for years.

Billy ‘Cornbread Red’ Burge (deceased) – Detroit’s finest, born on the Kentucky, Tennessee border. A fearsome money player who also happened to be one of the best bankers ever – especially on 5x10 tables.

Johnny ‘Cannonball’ Chapman (deceased) – From the West Side of Chicago. Possessed with one of the most powerful strokes in all of pool, ‘Cannonball’ was a threat to bank out every time he approached the table. His matches with the South Side’s ‘Youngblood’ Washington were legendary.

Marvin Henderson (deceased) A smooth stroking all-around player who excelled at Banks. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Marvin was in action from coast to coast.

Kenny ‘Romburg’ Remus (deceased) – One of ‘Bugs’ Chicago peers who sought out and beat nearly everybody, but unfortunately was killed at way too early an age.

Gary Spaeth (deceased) – From Cincinnati. Son of another player legend, Joey Spaeth, Gary developed a very strong banking game. He won one of the largest pre-Derby City Banks events and was a popular action player who also died way too young.

Eddie Taylor (deceased) – Generally acknowledged to be the greatest banker of all time. Inducted into the BCA Hall of Fame in 1993, and elected into the One Pocket HOF in 2004.

Rudolf Wanderone ‘Minnesota Fats’ (deceased) – A very aggressive banker whose banking talent nearly matched his braggadocio.

Please note: OnePocket.org reserves the right to close this poll prior to the stated closing date, so please do not wait until the last moment to vote -- you could miss your chance to vote!

Just want to say a big THANK YOU to all who voted for cousin Eddie Taylor.
He was a tremendous inspiration to our entire family and friends. What a true southern gentleman with a world of class. He truly loved people, family, and all forms of pool...mainly banks and one pocket. He represented the billiard industry really well.

I would like to vote for our cousin Eddie but not sure if voting is still open.

Thank you so very much,
God Bless,

Ted Haun
