Red Shoes Billiards located at 12009 S. Pulaski Road, Alsip, Illinois will be hosting an "Iron Man" bank pool tournament on May 18, 2024. The tournament is limited to the first 30 players who sign up. Entry fee is $50 (green fees included) and $500 is added based on a full field. John Lavin will be the tournament's director and referee. The doors open at 10 AM and the players meeting begins at 11 AM. Tournament play begins immediately after the players meeting.
This is an "Iron Man" bank pool tournament which means the tournament continues throughout the day until there is a winner. The final match is between the player in the hot seat (no losses) and the player who emerges with only one loss on the loser's side of the bracket. The finals is one match only to determine the winner of the tournament. The player with no losses in the finals has the option to accept or decline the break of the first rack.
The format of the match is three full racks whereby the winner of the match must score 23 banks before his opponent. Every ball is played in the first rack. Whoever makes the last ball of the first rack gets to break the second rack. If neither player has compiled 23 banks by the end of the second rack then whoever makes the last ball of the second rack gets to break the third rack. Play continues until a player has compiled 23 banks.
