I agree doc, nice WWYD visuals....I think Shannon woulda preferred to put em behind the 3.

Now I'm shootin the free shot on the six and takin' out the 4, lays natural. If you make the spot shot, there's a good chance the cue ball will hit behind the 4 and bank it back to your side. Either way a fat cut on the spotted ball removes the 4 or makes it'.
If you make the spot shot, you won’t touch the 4 ball, unless you jack up and shoot it with draw, which is probably what a tall guy would do here....

I'm thinkin' 860 HR cloth cue ball release conditions and red circle cue ball, which is, or is Not in play here. I'd cue it with a fast rolling cue ball, about 1 o'clock. Aim fat with the spin cut, and whitey would release/change direction just at obj. ball contact. If I under cut it, it would guarantee I'd hit the 4, with the cut ball up table and the 4 in the hole.

With the shot angle picture, there's no way we could of seen/visualized that bank being available.
