My Best buddy would have been 81 today.

I hope he's having the time of his eternal life, with all the players of cue games that have gone before him.

Keep a table open for me, See when I see you.
Freddy was a helluva guy. I really liked him. He might well have already started a 'beat list'. I would personally like to think him and and Jose Dick McMorran are getting along but that might be too big of an ask.

Yes, Freddy was a huge loss for One Pocket, Banks, onepocket.org and our HOF. His old school story telling seemed like a never ending well!

This book is a great way to remember "The Beard". If you don't own it you should.

I've been long wanting to get one. I've heard Freddy did a limited special edition of the book. If anyone has a spare copy lying around, I'd be delighted to take it off your hands.

A nice cover, too!

Top row (L to R): Ronnie Allen, "Bugs" (Leonard Rucker), Marcel Camp, Billy Johnson (Wade Crane), Knoxville Bear (Eddie Taylor), Lori Shampo
Middle row (L to R): Daddy Warbucks (Hubert Cokes), Danny Diliberto, Grady Mathews, Vernon Elliott, Cornbread Red (Bill Burge), UJ Puckett
Bottom row (L to R): Bill Incardona, Wimpy (Luther Lassiter), NY Blackie (Al Bonife), Minnesota Fats (Rudolph Wanderone), Cole Dickson, Buddy Hall

Did I get them right ?

If you're interested in the paperback version, pooldawg has a few for a very reasonable price.

https://www.pooldawg.com/the-encyclopedia-of-pool-hustlers-book

I couldn't find any hard cover, but on Amazon there was a seller selling one for $125 I think. You'd have to search.

I have both, I'll send you a pm

Freddy sent that paperback version out to people who had pre-ordered with an apology for it being a wait for the hardcover. Didn't charge anything for it. I gave mine away when the hardback showed up. The rat-weasel ingrate I gave it to sold it.

I was supposed to get one from Freddy at the Derby because a lot of my stories and photos were in the book but unfortunately….

If anyone knows how to get ahold of his daughter I’d like to buy one.
