Uhhh... Artie... Billy was taking Fred and playing John and SJD. That game has MUCH more going for it, for the players and the rail:)

Besides, I got a 2 hour, 30 min memory card I could get some good action taped with those guys. If you were involved, I might not get one game in the can:eek:

I got no stakes in any of it, so what I say means nothing... I'm just piping up from the cheap seats:D
Billy can play whatever game he wants too play. He has been doing that his whole life.

I I think if you pay the partnes money you could get youre 2.houers and 30 min memory card on.

And I think me and you should make a game so you can have a real memory. And I no someone who would be happy too take the stream line on us playing. I would enjoy playing someone I dont no. LIke a mystery guest.

I know Billy can play whoever he wants... what I say means absolutely nothing to anyone... I was just saying the matchup Billy just proposed with him and Fred against John and SJD, which John liked and SJD liked.. was a great matchup, that I'm sure EVERYONE here at onepocket.org would love to see.

So, even though my opinion means nothing, I still have to say it:)

Sorry, I can't pay anyone for anything. I live paycheck to paycheck. I do everything I do for the love of pool and to try and give something back to the other people that love pool. I have dedicated hundreds of hours of my time for free, because I love the game and want to do things to help and support it. Other people do this same thing too, in different ways.

Whether it be Steve Booth and the hundreds of hours he puts in on this site and the Hall of Fame, or all the posters here that take the time to draw up WEI tables or screen shots and donate their knowledge and time. It's one thing to type up a opinion, it's even more time to draw up WEI tables and screenshots. Whether you donate a little of your time or a lot of your time, it's ALL appreciated.

If anyone needs to be paid for a little footage of them playing, then I just have to move on to someone who doesn't. I'm not creating a feature DVD of them playing a match from start to finish, so there's no money for anyone anyways.

Sometimes you just have to GIVE a little something in life, and not focus all the time of GETTING something in life.:)

P.S... I will play you a race to 2 even up for $20. Shouldn't take more than 30-45 mins. You have to be cool with a camera going though.:) EDIT: (This just in... I have a backer, if I promise not to dump):D

I really think that you have a good game playing me and Artie and don't understand why you don't think so. I think you're a ball better then Artie and there may be at most a ball difference (if that) between us. Plus being your own partner is worth something. That would be a close game for semi sociable money. I know that we won before, but how did you play when we won? Artie beat you and you came back and beat him later, now Artie won't even play you even, he can't beat Ricky Bird. Ricky beat Artie 3 out of 4 times, I know I lost betting on Artie. You can beat Ricky easily giving him a ball. Harry Platis gave Ricky 9/7 and beat him at the DCC tournament. How would you play Harry? Think about it.:D

Billy I.

I lost to you and Artie 7 to 3 and do not think I have improved 4 games.

Artie & I have played two sessions and 27+ hours of pool and are even on the $$ and he has won one more game than I have. While I enjoy playing Artie, it does take a lot out of me to compete against his style of play. If we play again it will be even, just like the first two times we played.

I talked to someone who sweated the partners game in Mobile and he thought Artie played well. He did not mention the heads up game. He is a good one pocket player himself and I trust his opinion. It would be crazy for me to match up a game based on Artie's game having gone downhill.

You and I both like to play and bet a little and I am sure we will do something.

Dick says he will play the partner game so it is up to Freddy now on that game.

Aah, excuse me Greg, but...Did you think that the filming rights to the match between the 'Chicago One Pocket Ghost', and the infamous 'San Jose Dick McMorran' would be just given to you......as a matter of fact, our 'people' have been taking meetings and accepting bids for the last few weeks...Fox and ESPN are wanting it, and have both made very generous offers......

You lost to Artie and I 7 to 3 and you don't think you have improved 4 games since then, pleeeeez. You know that you played poorly when we played, you even admitted that. Not only did you play poorly in the partner game, but you played poorly against Artie too. And you admitted that as well. You believed that if you played your game against Artie you would win, and you did. The partner game is a close game, just like you and Dick thought it was to begin with. I'm just trying to start some action for some decent money.

I talked to Fred and he said that he will only play bank pool with the partner game, so I guess that game is off, sorry. I'll let you guys figure out ( you and fred) what game you want to play with oneanother, I was just trying to start some decent action.

I can bet on Artie playing Ricky Bird even, Ricky wants to play that game after winning 3 out of 4 times. How do you think you and Ricky Bird should play? Didn't you beat Harry Platis? I think Harry beat Ricky giving him 9/7, is that right? If so, what do you think a fair game is with Artie and Harry? Maybe some other people can chime in and offer their opinion, i'll listen to it.

You could play better than Harry, and Harry plays better than Artie. So why do you think Artie and you should play even? When Artie and Ricky play you can bet on Artie, if you like, i'll give you some of our action.

Bottom line, your judging Arties game on the first time you played. What's unfair about that is you had more to do with Artie winning than Artie. The next time you guys played you won, did that surprise you? Since then Artie hasn't beaten anyone, except in the partner game we played in Mobile.

And you can clearly see Artie has lost it, which is evidenced in his what is a free scratch worth thread.

Well..... that's a big bummer:( That was going to be the highlight of my trip.

Now I guess it will be filming SJD taking his teeth out at night and watching it get dropped into the fizzy stuff:eek:

I have played Artie twice and won the 2nd time 7/5. It took 14 1/2 hours and was far too grueling a match to make it worse by giving him any weight.

I did beat Harry when he was helpless. He had just lost to the card player and some more in the casino and had to get the up $$ from Fatboy because he was out of $$. Those kind of circumstances, as you know, will take a lot out of your game. However, I do play better than him and think Artie does too. Harry could not stand that slow pace Artie plays and that is why Harry and I played in the first place. Harry did not want to fade the slow deliberate pace that is part of playing Artie.

I am disapointed that Artie or Freddy won't play. As I have mentioned before, I will play Freddy short rack banks if he won't take a ball in one pocket.

I would also play Larry Schwartz, who was involved in our last matchup, some even one pocket. If he is playing at all he may even have a little edge, but I would play. I wouldn't play a partner game against you & Larry with SJD unless we got something.

If I beat The Ghost and Bernie I promise I will fire the 1k or 2k against you at something, maybe even 9 Ball.

I have to get the Henderson Parlay System going somewhere.

John,

As you know, our good friend Bernie can be a little less than a bolt of lightning himself.....If you allow the Ghost (with all his infinate knowledge) to micro-manage him,
you could be looking at some "Artie-like" time outs between shots...jes' sayin'..

I will bring a book to read (Banking with the Beard) if slow play developes.

I have played them both a few times and neither of them throw the clock at you. If I could hang in there with Artie for 14+ hours this will not be a problem.

They might make me play a little slower and that would be a good thing

John, I don't believe that Larry has gambled in pool in years, as you have seen any time Larry has been at tournaments all he does is sweat, he's a professional sweater. Now you want to put him in the hot seat, and then you say you want a little something from me and Larry against you and Dick.
I would not consider taking Larry and giving weight, but I would take him as my partner with coaching and play even. And I don't have to ask Larry if he'll play i'll make him play and put up his money, what do you say?

I think I know what John will say...We do not have a game "even". John will be dragging a piano around with him (me)...We love to play, but we are not into giving our money away. (most of the time)

I have it on good authority, that Larry still plays pretty sporty... Billy, nothing wrong with wanting to have the best horse in the race, but don't be so obvious... :D :p

That's funny Dick, you have it on good authority that Larry still plays sporty. Ask your authority when the last time he has either seen or heard of Larry beating someone playing pool, and if he did it was certainly not playing one pocket. I would really like to know that answer. I personally haven't seen Larry gamble playing pool in over 15 years.

By the way, i'm not the person that put Larry in the mix of possible players, it was John who suggested Larry could be put in the mix.

I guess it was an oversight on John's behalf to put Larry one of the worlds finest players, and clearly Chicagos finest in the mix.

Dick, I have a suggestion for you, why don't you ask The Beard if he can beat Larry playing one pocket? Just because Larry's name is not on The Beards beat list, that doesn't mean that he can't beat him. Ask The Beard.;)

You should not feel guilty, it is who you are and how you play. I knew what I was getting into and enjoyed our Matches and even learned a little something, but being a year older, I don't know how I would handle another long session like the ones we had. I was out of it for a couple days after the last one before I could play again.
