To reward what has become the pulse of the Derby City Classic, Greg Sullivan set up an award for the individual who exemplified entertainment and action over the course of the event: The Louie Roberts Action and Entertainment Award.

The award was named after the late great "St. Louie" Louie Roberts, a high rolling 9-ball monster that played at the highest level both in tournament play as well as in the back rooms. The 1979 U.S. Open 9-ball Champion, Louie Roberts was infamous for betting high and giving outrageous spots just to get action. His good looks and charismatic charm always attracted a crowd. That is, he was the personification of action and entertainment. Thus, the award is aptly named.

The winner of the Action and Entertainment Award receives lifetime free tournament entry and free hotel accommodations at the Derby City Classic. Additionally, the winner is included in the gallery of champions displayed in the tournament venue. Past champions include Alex Pagulayan, Tony Watson, Scott Frost, Cliff Joyner, Chris Bartram. and last year's winner, Shane Van Boening.

As has been the tradition started 2006, the internet forum participants who attend the Derby City Classic vote for the winner. No hidden rooms. No 5 panel secret judges. You the internet public vote in the winner of the Louie Roberts Action and Entertainment Award.

I hope when it is all said and done you have a legitimate winner but this year looks like it is going to be real difficult to come up with a lot of names considering how the rules have changed. Everything is to be toned down so as not to advertise gambling and cash. Good luck. I cannot imagine people like Scooter, Ronnie Allen, Bucktooth, Fatboy with his cash , and many others I do not know names not being able to woof and flash and post. It is going to be tough and not as fun as usual.

You bring up a great point. If the gambling is to be discrete, then how they matchups and action happen and still remain entertaining is going to be a challenge.

Still, I doubt anyone is going to mistake the action room with a funeral.

You dont have to wrry nobody is going to do anything. Gamble all you want in pool. The Casinos are behind you and the will be responsable nothing will happen to the players. And the Casinos buissness is bad enough. Thier nopy going top wory about some sall time action betting at a pool game. And gambling is leggale in the Casino. And the will not give the Casinos ant heat for the gambling at pool. And the havant done anything to anybody for gambling at the pool tournament in the Casinos. The last thing the want to do is bother the Casinos for gambling. When thier buisness is going down. And the Econome is in a RUT. THe Casinos should pay you for gambling because you people stimulate the buisness. And the have a gambling liscense. THe only thing you have to look out for is the HIjack. Not getting arested for gambling in a Casino. I never hird of anyone gitting arested for gambling at pool in any Casino. And like I said the dont want no bad publicedy for the Casino. And everyone knowes your in a CAsino. If you tell them you are a pool player they might give you some money or back you. A good move would be to have the Casino put up prices on the matches. The have too much money anyway. THE NEED TO SPREAD SOME GOOD WILL. OR THROUGH A PARTY. Maybe a thousand to one can win the tournament? But dont worry about the gambling. Nobody isnt going to do anythig.

Anything over one hundred thousand I get 10 percent for steering you into a winner. Freddy played so good the bared him out of the Stratesphire. Freddy has a winning system but he is not supose to give it out. And maybe Freddy will give you a dice lession. Three hundred dollares a houer. BUt I dont think he will give up his system. Bet on Freddy before he eats not after he eats. Because after he eats he needs to take a nap. And a great mind needs lots of rest. You are right on a lot of points. However, as you, better than many of us would know, the states where there are casinos are very protective of their ability ot control the action. You are much more likely to get in hot water playing a game of cards, out side the normal gaming system, in or near a casino as the feds and the casino are wanting the vig on all action.

You gotta love their monopoly on it, "It aint sin if we can tax it!"

I will tell you how wrong and powerfull the system is the can do whatever the want. Remember Johson City the closed it down. And yet the same people did the same thing at the Star Dust and nothing happened. I just wanted to bring that out to show you wats going on and the people with the power do watever the want. We are nothing but pwns. And no the have a wright to take your money. And hold it and say that its only a investgation. But once the have the money the will find something on you were the will keep the money and not give it back. But people dont have a clue whats going on. And the can do this to anyone. But most of the people who will read tgis wont care anyway. But I will give you a little tip. IF SOME ONE GETS REAL LUCKY AND WINS REAL BIG MONEY. Start sending someone to the casino cage and start cashing out some of your chips. Because the might not have the money to pay of your scvore. And if you do it the way I said it you will get paid. And the Casinos money is suposse to be garented put its not. And if the file banckrupcy you are gitting nothing. And I had it happen to me were the owed me 120 thousand dollares and I had to end up settiling for 80 thousand and I was lucky to get that because some one steped in. And the casino wen broke and bankrupite and other people got stiffed. Thier mone in the Casinos is suppose to be up and garentied but its not. And the all work together. ITs like a crew of thieves beating a bunch of suckers. But IF you are the lucky winner do what I said and you will be ok. I am not on the side of the Casinos and Goverment.
