Now Scott Frost is complaining about how Scott Rabin racks. Its all moves.

Another 8 and out by Alex who goes up 4-1.
There was some debate on how Scott should give Alex the 7-ball here, which did end up becoming a key shot in this game. It is Scott's shot and the 7-ball is hanging in Alex pocket.

anybody know....championship game tomorrow....does alex need to get double dipped or is a single set?
yes true double elim
i was wondering what that was all about. assumed he was just trying to get in alex's head a little.
was able to catch the end of justin b. vs chohan game. thought justin had it all sewed up, played an ill advised kick on the 7 about a diamond and a half from his pocket and that is all tony needed. tells you just how good these guys are - any mental lapse and you're done.
I believe Terry reported on AZ, it's down to JJ, Scott, and Alex.
I was at the room yesterday from 10:30 A.M. to 8 P.M. I felt as if I HAD played all that time myself! My eyes were getting pretty scratchy, so I knew it was time to boogie. Scott and Alex had just started, but I didn't want to sit around for another 3 hours, then drive home shot to hell...
I sat with OnePocketHacker and friends for quite a spell. It was good to see him and to hear that he'd made a nice little score the night before. I'm sure more will be had.
I had a nice chat with Cardone just before he had to commentate on the first Frost/Alex match. He's looking good, and is as opinionated as ever. Scott came over to show Bill some of his proposed T-shirt sayings. Bill told Scott to "just play your game" in his match with Alex.
I see that Scott didn't bring his "A" moving game. That's typical of Scott, which is the main reason he doesn't shine at tournaments: there's not enough time for him to fade positional mistakes, or sell-outs, along with the resultant downturns. He'll likely beat JJ today, so there will be another Scott/Alex rematch for the finals. Scott is not likely to beat Alex in back-to-back races to 5, but one never knows. He'd have to be determined to skip some of the combination move, or fancy shots.
Speaking of that, yesterday's match between Cliff and Chohan was a super grinder. I watched most of the 6-1/2 hour match. Tony actually straightforwardly attained a 4-0 lead, which promised to best Joyner in short order. But when Cliff won his first game (the 5th in the match) it seemed to give him new life. You could tell that he made a decision to do whatever it took to shut down Tony, which is no easy task. For the next several hours, he played lock-down safes, taking very few chances. This was doubly difficult for him, due to his shoulder impairment. Oftentimes he'd have to back away from his shot, stretching his shoulder, going over to scuff his cue tip, taking a drink, etc.
You could tell that the tactic was working. Tony visibly became mesmerized, and a little deflated. To top it off, the table had 4-1/8" pockets, so to make a ball took high accuracy. Cliff bunted and clawed his way back into the match, winning 4 in a row to take it to the double hill-- a remarkable feat.
Their 9th game was also an uptable game, but in the end, Tony caught a little bit of a gear, and won the game and match by just a few balls.
When Tony switched tables to play Bergman, I thought he'd have more of an easy time of it. Going from 4-1/8" pockets to 4-1/2" pockets would seem to make him feel like he was shooting at buckets; but that wasn't the case. Despite being fairly young, I think Tony was halfway fatigued from his long battle with Cliff.
Bergman is a great player, but one-pocket may not be his best game. Still, he held off a slowed Chohan, but ended up losing to him in the case game.
Tony had a nice $9K payday (including calcutta), which is more than enough to keep him in pizza. I'm happy for JJ. He's playing well, and he can now do no worse than $16.5K. The calcutta itself is $50K, which is actually on the low end for Louisiana!
I won't return today to fade the crowds and the smoke, even though without all the barbox specialists, the venue would be more enjoyable. But I can't say enough about Buff going all out to make this an enjoyable event. He really went to the nth degree. And Joe Long was everywhere, making sure everyone was happy, making lots of conversation, and making lots of bets!
They will undoubtedly make this an annual event. The one in Chalmette at Lacy's Cue in November will be on an even larger scale-- more like the DCC. They'll likely hold a big barbox league event on the other side of the room where there are 17 barboxes. So it'll be something for which to mark your calendars!

Scott and JJ are still at it. How will either of them have enough energy left to play a double race with Alex? I'm exhausted just from watching them.
It was good to see and talk to you Doc. They thought they had us trapped. Scott frost lost $ 15,000 in 30 minutes to Westbank John playing the same game Anthony and I gave him. Scott told everyone we had no chance. Anthony won in about 3 hours and I won in an hour
