I just watched one of the new videos from Hard Times on POV and I noticed they would spot a ball from the kitchen once in a while. They even did it when there was a ball in play. What's the rule and what's the point of it?

They do it to speed up play Petie.

They do it to speed up play Petie.

The fifth ball behind the line is spotted. The ball that is closest to the line is spotted. If they forget to do so, then they wait a full turn and then spot it.
