It was interesting that one of the guest commentators stated; " that at another tournament that when the game winning ball was jawed and it was the opponent's shot they picked the ball up and spotted it plus one of the opponent's balls. No shot was taken, and they played as if it was a jumped cb/ob.
So Steve's virtual jump rule, so no balls are jumped off of the table. I like that rule on the game winning ball if the opponent has a clear shot at jumping the ball off of the table, but not a shot at following it in. I think the players can agree upon this scenario, and agree to do a virtual jump.
I feel to win a game then you should have to pocket the game winning ball, not just hang it. The way tables are playing these days it is easy to hang a ball even if you miss the shot by a ways.
